Daddycool on this Friday

Daddy Cool, the directorial debut of Aashiq Abu, has Mammootty in the lead role, playing the best, coolest daddy in the world. He’s the kind of father who would much rather spend time with his six-year-old son that do his job. And being a Police officer, his rather laidback attitude is not appreciated by his peers and superiors. Daddy Cool however, is undeterred! Also playing substantial roles in the movie are Biju Menon, Vijayaraghavan and Baburaj. This movies promises to be good family entertainment and is expected to release on August 7th. The story line of the film is The escapades of a cricket crazy kid, all of eight years and his father, a cop. Antony Simon (Mammootty) is a crime branch DySP, but prefers to spend his time fooling around with his son Aadi. Annie, played by the pretty Richa Pallod, plays his wife who finds this just irritating. Sometime later the father-son duo becomes friends with a national cricketer Sreekanth (Govind Padmasurya) and that changes their lives forever. Daddy Cool is director Aashiq Abu’s debut film. He has assisted director Kamal before. Richa Pallod is a well known face in ad films. Remember her in films like Shajahan in Tamil, with Vijay? Cricketer Sreesanth was originally chosen to do the role, now done by Govind Padmasurya (yeah, he’s the one in the offbeat film Adayalangal and the villain in the Suresh Gopi starrer IG). The rumour has it that though Sreesanth was keen to do the role initially, he quoted a bigger price after becoming more successful on the cricket field!
